Using the Recraft AI lasso tool to modify an image – whether adjusting anatomical detail, removing unwanted background noise or integrating new elements – takes the work of design to a new level.
1. Open a new project
Start by generating an image with the Recraft AI image generator or upload an existing one.
2. Select the area to modify with the lasso tool
In the toolbar, select ‘Modify area’ to pick up the lasso tool. Use the outline pen to trace the specific area to be modified. Only the highlighted section will be impacted by prompt changes.
3. Modify the original text prompt
Go to the original prompt created in the image generation panel. Add text to it to indicate what should change in the highlighted section. Let’s say the original prompt was “boy walking down a city street.” To change that to “woman in a green dress walking down a city street,” lasso the boy in the image and replace "boy" with "woman in a green dress" in the prompt field. Then, click ‘Modify area.’ Be sure to only modify the part of the prompt you want to change to avoid regenerating the entire image.
4. Unselect the lassoed area and finalize
Once satisfied with the modification, right-click on the image, select “Clear selection” to remove the lasso, and export the image in the desired format.
